How to setup an X-lite Softphone

This guide will walk you through the procedure of setting up the X-lite softphone for use with our VoIP products. Normally, we would advise using a physical, or "hard" phone, but there may be cases where a software based, or "Soft" phone is needed or preferred.

Firstly, download and install the software on your device. Once done, open it, and goto preferences..

Once there, go to Accounts, and click the + symbol to add a new account. I have already set one up in the above picture, but you will have nothing listed. You will then be presented with another window, where you need to enter the SIP information for the extension.

Here, you enter the SIP information located within Selfcare. For the sake of this guide, we are assuming you are using our Hosted PBX solution. Firstly, name your account, at the top. This can be whatever you like. Next, enter the "SIP Login" information into the User ID and Authorization name fields. Enter the "SIP Domain" into the Domain field and enter the password into the password field. The Display name can be set to whatever you wish. Next, goto the 'Advanced' tab and change the "Reregister every" option to 60.

Click ok at the bottom, to save your changes. The last thing you need to do is enable the account, which you can do by clicking on the "Enabled" check box

Once done, the status button should turn green, indicating the account has registered correctly, and you will now be able to make and receive calls through the hosted platform.
